Do you operate in the health and social care sector?
Back on 31 January, Sajid Javid, the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, announced his belief that “it is no longer proportionate to require vaccination as a condition of deployment’” when it comes to the COVID-19 vaccination.
As a result, the department for health and social care launched a further consultation to revoke the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) (Amendment) (Coronavirus) (No. 2) Regulations 2022.
This legislation required those workers in regulated health and social care activities, who fell in scope of the Regulations to be able to evidence their vaccination status to continue to be able to work normally from 1 April.
Despite this consultation and the intentions now to not make the vaccine mandatory, the government continues to urge everybody to become full vaccinated.
If you would like to participate in the consultation, then there is one day to go and you can do so here.
When we know the outcome and findings from this consultation, we will provide further updates.
